Another Big Honor for Trotter

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. earned another big honor this week.

The Clemson linebacker was selected to The Associated Press All-America team, announced Monday.

Trotter received second-team AP All-America honors, and it joins a long list of accolades for the 6-foot, 230-pound junior in 2023.

A Butkus Award finalist and Bednarik Award semifinalist, Trotter is a first-team All-America selection by Sports Illustrated and Action Network, while he is also a second-team All-America selection by the USA Today, The Athletic, Fox Sports and PFF. Additionally, he’s a first-team All-ACC selection and also garnered first-team All-ACC status from the AP, USA Today and College Football Network.

Trotter also collected second-team All-America honors from the Associated Press in 2022.

This season, Trotter was credited with a team-high 88 tackles, a team-best 15.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, six pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two interceptions (including one he returned 28 yards for a touchdown) over 12 games (all starts).

Trotter — who has declared for the 2024 NFL Draft — finished his Clemson career credited with 202 tackles, 29.5 tackles for loss, 13 sacks, 13 pass breakups, three forced fumbles and four interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns) across 39 career games (26 starts) from 2021-23.
