Dickie V Shows Some Love to Brownell

Legendary basketball announcer Dick Vitale showed some love to Clemson men’s basketball head coach Brad Brownell this week.

On Monday, Vitale released his list of weekly accolades via social media — Dickie V’s Stars of the Week — and Brownell was named Vitale’s coach of the week.

This past week, Brownell led the Tigers to a pair of wins over previously undefeated teams, with Clemson beating South Carolina, 72-67, on Wednesday in Littlejohn Coliseum before defeating TCU, 74-66, on Saturday in the Hall of Fame Series Toronto.

Brownell has guided the Tigers (9-0, 1-0 ACC) to their best start since the 2008-09 season.

Saturday’s win over TCU marked the 250th victory at Clemson for Brownell, the program’s all-time winningest coach who’s currently in his 14th campaign in charge of the Tigers.
