This local standout has been a frequent traveler to Tiger Town, and he returned to campus once again this week.
T.L. Hanna (Anderson, S.C.) class of 2025 defensive back Cam Strong made his latest unofficial visit to Clemson on Tuesday.
“I’d say the highlight for me was being able to get in the team meetings,” he told The Clemson Insider. “I was able to learn new things, and being there made me feel like I was already a part of the team.”
Strong is very familiar with the Tigers, having camped at Clemson this past summer prior to attending the Charleston Southern, Florida State and Notre Dame games this season.
Among the things he did during his latest visit this week, besides sitting in team meetings, was tour the football facility, have a photoshoot and take in a bowl practice.
What stood out to Strong from what he saw at the practice?
“I’d say the energy of the defensive side,” he said. “Everyone was flying around and had high energy.”
Strong was accompanied on the visit by his mother and brother.
“They enjoyed every bit of it,” he said.
According to Strong, he’s being recruited by Clemson as both a cornerback and safety, and the staff feels he’d “be a great fit for their defense.”
The 6-foot-1, 170-pound junior was able to speak some more time Tuesday with safeties coach Mickey Conn and cornerbacks coach Mike Reed as well as defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin.
“They were all telling me that they’re gonna offer really soon,” Strong said.
Having the chance to play for the Tigers would obviously be huge for the talented local recruit, whose offer list currently includes Virginia Tech, NC State, Duke, West Virginia, South Florida, Charlotte and Georgia State.
“It’ll feel great,” Strong said of potentially receiving a Clemson offer. “I can see myself playing there.”
