Where Clemson CB Landed in ESPN’s Latest 2024 Mock Draft

ESPN released its latest 2024 NFL mock draft this week, with draft analyst Matt Miller giving his predictions for every first-round pick (subscription required).

Miller’s latest mock has one Clemson star, cornerback Nate Wiggins, going in the first round.

Miller currently projects Wiggins to be taken by the Minnesota Vikings with the 22nd overall pick.

“The Vikings are desperate for a franchise quarterback but probably won’t be picking high enough to get a top passer in this class,” Miller wrote. “Maybe they bring back Kirk Cousins? Maybe they sign someone else or address it further down the board? Either way, I like them adding a top-flight cornerback here at No. 22 if QB isn’t an option. People at Clemson say Wiggins is the fastest player on the Tigers’ roster, and he does it at 6-foot-2. He played his best football down the stretch of the 2023 regular season before declaring for the draft and has true CB1 traits.”

Wiggins declared for the draft in late November and won’t play in the Tigers’ bowl game.

A first-team All-ACC selection as a junior this season, Wiggins tallied 25 tackles (one for loss), a team-high nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one sack and a team-high-tying two interceptions (one of which he returned 46 yards for his second career touchdown) over 10 games (seven starts).

In his career at Clemson from 2021-23, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder recorded 50 tackles (3.0 for loss), 24 pass breakups, three interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, a sack and a blocked field goal over 34 games (18 starts).

The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held in Detroit from April 25–27.
