Former Clemson Star Leads All NFL Defenders

No defender in the NFL has graded out better thus far in the 2023 season than this Clemson pro, according to one analytics site.

Per Pro Football Focus, former Tiger star and current New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence is the highest-graded defender in the league with a PFF grade of 93.2.

Following an All-Pro season in 2022, Lawrence has put together another stellar campaign this season. The 26-year-old has posted 4.5 sacks and 59 total pressures after tallying 63 total pressures and 7.5 sacks last year.

Lawrence was named to the PFF Team of the Week following a standout performance against the Green Bay Packers this past Monday night, when he recorded three tackles, a half-sack and six total pressures on only 20 pass rush snaps (per PFF).

Now in his fifth NFL season with the Giants after the franchise took him in the first round (17th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, Lawrence earned a well-deserved contract extension this past offseason when he and New York agreed to a four-year, $90 million deal.
