Former Tiger Out for the Season

This Clemson pro will be sidelined for the rest of the season following a significant injury during this past weekend’s NFL action.

Per reports, former Tiger defensive tackle DJ Reader is out for the year after suffering a torn quad tendon in the Cincinnati Bengals’ 27-24 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday.

Reader had to be carted off the field in the first quarter after the injury occurred. He suffered the same injury during the 2020 season.

In 14 games this season (14 starts), Reader recorded 34 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, seven quarterback hits, a fumble recovery and a pass breakup.

Since entering the league in 2016 after being drafted in the fifth round that year by the Houston Texans, Reader has racked up 277 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks in his career with the Texans and Bengals.

Reader was recently ranked by Pro Football Focus as the 19th-best player set to hit free agency after this season.
