ESPN released its latest men’s college basketball power rankings on Monday.
The Clemson men’s basketball team (9-1, 1-0 ACC) dropped out of ESPN’s updated power rankings after previously being ranked No. 14 last week.
However, the Tigers are in what ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, who authored the power rankings, calls “the waiting room” to enter the rankings.
“The Tigers suffered their first loss on Saturday, falling by two at Memphis. Perhaps not coincidentally, it was also Joseph Girard III’s first subpar performance in more than a month,” Borzello wrote. “It was his first single-digit scoring game since the second contest of the season, and he shot just 3-for-8 from the field. The Tigers should bounce back with two home games before ACC play though.”
Clemson returns home this Friday to host Queens at 6 p.m. on ACCN. The Tigers will then welcome Radford to Littlejohn Coliseum on Friday, Dec. 29 for the final game of the 2023 calendar year before ACC play ratchets up in the new year, beginning with a matchup at Miami on Wednesday, Jan. 3.
Clemson slid five spots to No. 18 in the latest AP Top 25, while the Tigers are also No. 18 in the latest Coaches Poll after dropping seven spots.
