Florida DE ‘Super Excited’ to Sign with Clemson, Start Tiger Career

Among the commitments set to ink with Clemson today, as college football’s early signing period gets underway, is Adam Kissayi.

Ahead of signing day, The Clemson Insider caught up with the talented defensive end from Heritage High School (Palm Bay, Fla.).

Kissayi couldn’t wait to put pen to paper and make things official with the Tigers.

“I’m super excited,” he said. “When I was young, I dreamed of this day coming to life, and now it’s coming before my face.”

Kissayi committed to Clemson on July 14, choosing the Tigers over a heap of other offers, and he’s high on their 2024 class that entered the early signing period ranked in the top 15 nationally by multiple recruiting services.

“I think we got national championship (potential). I think we can really get one,” he said.

There’s plenty of camaraderie between the commits in what has become a tight-knit class, and Kissayi was able to quickly fit right in with his future teammates.

“I like all the guys. They’re cool,” he said. “When I committed, they instantly added me to our group chat and we were talking, and they’re funny guys and I like them.”

Leading up to the early signing period, Kissayi had an approximately three-hour visit at his school with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, defensive tackles coach Nick Eason and new defensive ends coach Chris Rumph.

“I really enjoyed talking to the new D-end coach, Coach Rumph, getting a feel for him,” Kissayi said. “He’s a good guy, and really just enjoying my time sitting down with Dabo. We weren’t really talking much football – we were just talking about life and laughing and just chopping it up really.”

The 6-foot-7.5, 230-pound Kissayi will be an early enrollee, and he’s ecstatic to get on campus in January to begin his career in Tiger Town.

“I’m excited, man. I’m ready to get up there early, be on my meal plan, get everything going,” he said. “I’m trying to be ahead of the curve and knock some classes out and do what I got to. I’m going to miss home, I’ll miss my friends, my dad, my brother and all that. But I gotta do what I gotta do. You gotta be a man, so that’s what I’m gonna do.”
