Does Stoops Think Clemson Should Be in the SEC?

JACKSONVILLE – The world of conference realignment continues to seep into college football, and Clemson is one of the schools that’s been in a lot of national conversations about the possibility of a move.

If that ever came to be, the SEC would be a possible landing spot and the Tigers are taking on an SEC opponent in Kentucky for the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl Friday. During his presser, Wildcats head coach Mark Stoops said Clemson reminds him of an SEC-caliber program and he was asked about the possibility of the Tigers joining the conference.

“I don’t want to be reckless. As soon as I say something, that’ll be national news,” Stoops said.

It’s a candid but reserved answer from Kentucky’s head coach, and he had a chuckle during the answer. Clemson takes on the Wildcats Friday at EverBank Stadium, kicking off at noon.
