Clemson Returns Two Starters for Gator Bowl

JACKSONVILLE – The No. 22 Clemson Tigers are returning a couple key players back from injury for their TaxSlayer Gator Bowl matchup with Kentucky. While multiple starters are back in the fold, there’s also some injuries short-handing the Tigers.

Wide receiver Antonio Williams is back as well as safety Jalyn Phillips. The former is set to add to a thin receiving core since the loss of Beaux Collins to the transfer portal. Phillips is a key captain of the defense, and his return is crucial for Wes Goodwin’s secondary.

That becomes even more important with Jaedyn Lukus out. Extra responsibility will be on the freshmen like Avieon Terrell and Khalil Barnes. Other than those two, the report confirms that all other players listed on the depth chart are active.

There’s some number changes as well for the bowl game. Phillips will wear No. 1, defensive back Shelton Lewis is wearing No. 2, tight end Olsen Patt-Henry is wearing No. 11 and defensive backRob Billings is wearing No. 14. Clemson and Kentucky kick off at noon, televised on ESPN.
