Tiger Ready to ‘Run it Back’ for One More Year

One of Clemson’s best weapons took to X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday to make it official about his return for one more season with the Tigers.

Coach Swinney said in late November he expected Clemson punter Aiden Swanson to return next season.

Swanson shined in the Notre Dame game recently when he averaged 44.2 yards on six punts with a career-high five punts downed inside the 20, collecting ACC Specialist of the Week and Ray Guy Award “Ray’s 8” honors. Last Saturday against North Carolina, he averaged 47.5 yards on six punts including a career-high-tying three punts of 50-plus yards.

A native of Tampa, Fla., Swanson entered this season having previously averaged 41.8 yards on 70 career punts and 63.3 yards on 11 career kickoffs plus a 2-for-2 mark on PATs over 22 career games (14 starts) from 2019-22.

“He’s had a great year, man,” Swinney said. “He’s been a weapon for us.”
