The 411 on Clemson’s loss at Miami

Miami connected on 75 percent of its second half shots, which allowed the Hurricanes to cruise past No. 16 Clemson, 95-82, Wednesday night at the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, Fla.

Led by Nijel Pack’s game-high 25 points, Miami outscored the Tigers 60-41 in the final 20 minutes. The Hurricanes also got 23 points from Matthew Cleveland and Norchad Omier, who made his last four shots.

The Tigers were led by Joe Girard’s 18 points and five assists, while PJ Hall added 17 points and six rebounds. Chase Hunter scored 16 points and had three assists, while Ian Schieffelin recorded another double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Overall, Clemson shot the ball well. The Tigers connected on 46 percent of their shots, was a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line and 11 of 30 (37 percent) from behind the three-point line.

However, Clemson could not get the necessary stops, as the Hurricanes blew open the game in the second half.
