National Outlet Names Two Former Tigers to All-Pro Team

This week, a national outlet recognized who it sees as the top performers of the 2023 NFL regular season, and those players include a couple of former Clemson standouts.

New York Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence and Atlanta Falcons punter Bradley Pinion were both honored by Pro Football Focus, being named to PFF’s 2023 All-Pro team as first-teamers.

A fifth-year pro, Lawrence has enjoyed another stellar campaign in 2023. In 16 games this season, the 6-foot-4, 340-pounder filled up the stat sheet while racking up 21 quarterback hits, 4.5 sacks, 53 tackles (32 solo), seven tackles for loss, two passes defended and 60-plus total pressures.

Lawrence earned All-Pro honors last season as well and was selected to his second straight Pro Bowl in 2023.

“Lawrence was the best interior defender in football this season… ranking first with a 92.6 PFF pass-rushing grade and third with an 89.5 PFF run-defense grade,” PFF’s Gordon McGuinness wrote.

As for Pinion, his second season with the Falcons and ninth season in the league overall was a strong one.

Pinion, who has also punted for the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers during his pro career, averaged 47.0 yards per punt (41.1 net yards per punt) this season and had just three touchbacks on 75 punts with a long of 66 yards. He pinned 27 of those 75 punts inside the 20 (36 percent).
