The future Tigers are showing out on the field and the court. Brad Brownell’s soon-to-be guard turned heads at a high-profile tournament over the weekend.
Three-star guard Ace Buckner, son of Clemson Athletics Hall of Famer Greg Buckner, committed to Clemson in November and is making a bigger name for himself at the Hoophall Classic. It’s a showcase that features some of the best high school and academy teams in the country, and Buckner was one of the shining stars.

As reported by ESPN draft analyst Jonathan Givony, Buckner was doing it on both ends at will. 19 points on nine attempts is no easy feat, and his length at just 6-foot-1 makes him an impressive defender for his size.
While the Tigers might have to prepare for the loss of their veteran guards after the 2023-24 season, Buckner is a prospect that Clemson can lean on for the future and he’s proving it on the big stage.
