Former Clemson Staffer Lands New DC Job

A former Clemson staffer has landed a new coaching gig.

UCF announced Wednesday that longtime coach Ted Roof will join the Knights’ staff as defensive coordinator.

Oklahoma and Roof parted ways in early January after he spent the last two seasons as the Sooners’ defensive coordinator under OU head coach and former Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables.

Prior to his time at Oklahoma, Roof spent 2021 on Clemson’s staff as a defensive analyst.

Roof, who has more than 30 years of Power Five coaching experience, has been a Broyles Award nominee at three different schools.
