ESPN Names Incoming Clemson WR Among True Freshmen to Know in ’24

ESPN this week highlighted some true freshmen to know for the 2024 college football campaign (subscription required).

That list features one incoming Clemson freshman in highly touted wide receiver TJ Moore, a four-star recruit ranked among the top 100 overall prospects in the nation by most recruiting services.

Moore, who signed with the Tigers in December, will enroll this summer. ESPN ranks the 6-foot-3, 190-pounder as the No. 17 receiver and No. 92 overall prospect nationally in the 2024 class.

“Clemson’s leading receiver this season was Tyler Brown, who was a freshman, and the leader in touchdown receptions was tight end Jake Briningstool. There wasn’t much production behind them, though, and the team ranked 61st in receiving yards per game among all FBS teams with just 228.4 yards, and No. 70 in receiving touchdowns,” ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren wrote.

“Moore is a welcome addition in this class, as is receiver Bryant Wesco, who could be included on this list as well. Moore had 1,272 receiving yards and 17 receiving touchdowns as a senior in high school.”

Across his junior and senior seasons at Tampa (Fla.) Catholic, Moore tallied 92 receptions for 2,293 yards and 30 touchdowns while averaging 96 receiving yards per game. He registered 100 receiving yards in 12 games over his final two years.

Moore showed off his exciting potential with a stellar performance at the All-American Bowl in San Antonio on Jan. 6, when he made a slew of catches including two touchdown grabs and a highlight one-handed snag.
