The traveling season is upon us and the Clemson Tigers traveled to continue improving its relationship with a key defensive target in 2025.
Four-star edge rusher Bryce Davis is a target that Clemson has honed in on since the summer. He was one of the first 2025 recruits to receive an offer with it coming on June 1. Davis also visited Death Valley for the win over North Carolina in the fall.
It’s a relationship that head coach Dabo Swinney and his staff have built on, and just recently went to continue growing by visiting him at Grimsley (N.C.) High School. Following the latest meeting, Davis updated his recruitment with the Tigers.
“The visit went great my dad was able to stop by the school as well and we all just talked including coach Rumph and coach Goodwin. Their main message was that they know ‘Clemson is a great fit for me, but it’s up to me to figure out if I think the same,’” Davis told The Clemson Insider.
Defensive line is a position that Clemson has to build for the future on given the changing of the guard over the last two seasons. The culture is something Swinney always emphasizes in his recruitment and it’s no different with Davis.
As the timeline moves along in his recruitment, Davis says that there’s no rush from Clemson’s side and it’s no nonsense. That’s something he appreciates, and it’ll be important as the Tigers move forward in the efforts to bring his talents to Tiger Town.
“They have been very transparent with me since they started recruiting me,” Davis said. “I appreciate that they don’t beat around the bush they keep it straight up with me and that’s something I can appreciate and respect.”
