Clemson ‘Checking All the Boxes’ for 2025 OL Target

The work isn’t done for Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke, and the Tigers are trying to craft one of the best offensive line classes in recent memory.

2025 four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison is part of that effort, and Luke recently took a visit to Sumner (Fla.) High School to visit him. Part of that was his now iconic locker room selfies, which Addison was adamant to The Clemson Insider about.

He said “watch” how other coaches might start doing it, but it was with Addison at Sumner where the trend began with Luke. Addison said he just “wants to put that out there” as it continues.

That’s just a small part of his relationship with Luke. As we’ve seen with other recruits, Addison is quickly building a relationship with the Tigers coach.

“(Clemson’s) one of my four top schools. Coach Like is really pushing out. Really good people, down to earth. Knows what he’s talking about, knows ball, loves ball,” Addison said.

There’s a lot of respect between Addison and Luke, and it was evident when discussing his recruitment. It’s a large reason why he holds Clemson in such high regards.

While the Tigers already have three commitments up front, Addison is interested in the idea of creating the “best ‘25 class in the country” if he were to join the current group.

“Luke really shows how much he cares about not only the school, but from the recruiting standpoint, he really cares about his athletes and the development of his players,” Addison said. “In a short period of time, he’s really pushing out more than a lot of schools recruiting in general. So it just shows the amount of support and how much he cares.”

Addison is a key target for 2025, and he plans to commit before his senior season. He confirmed that he’ll be taking an official visit to Clemson and it’s one of his top schools for a reason beyond football.

“The genuine people,” Addison said. “(Dabo Swinney) really cares about his players and you can tell he’s not going to change in the recruiting process. He’s just a great person and I love being around good people…they’re just checking all the boxes.”
