Clemson’s efforts on the recruiting trail are paying dividends and the Tigers are getting to work early with one of the most coveted recruits in the 2026 class.

Five-star cornerback Samari Matthews announced on X he’ll be at the Elite Spring Day March 9. Clemson won’t offer Matthews’ class till the summer, but this is the time to make an impression.

Matthews stands at 6-foot and plays for Hough (N.C.), where Clemson landed kicker Nolan Hauser. North Carolina is a state the Tigers have success in, and it’ll likely be entering the sweepstakes for the rising talent with 13 Division-I offers.
