Tigers Re-Enter National Analyst’s Power Rankings; Hall Earns Weekly Award

NCAA.com’s Andy Katz released his new Power 36 rankings this week.

The Clemson men’s basketball team (16-7, 6-6 ACC) moved back into the power rankings, checking in at No. 25 in Katz’s latest Power 36 after previously being unranked.

“The Tigers are back after winning at North Carolina and Syracuse,” Katz wrote.

Clemson led wire-to-wire in its 80-76 victory over then-No. 3 North Carolina last Tuesday, earning the program’s second-ever win on the road against the Tar Heels.

Then on Saturday, the Tigers sealed their second road victory in the same week with their 77-68 win at Syracuse. It marked the first time Clemson has won two road conference games in the same week since Jan. 4-7, 2023.

Additionally, Clemson star PJ Hall was named by Katz as the National Player of the Week.

“Hall led the Tigers to a pair of season-changing wins at North Carolina and at Syracuse to recapture the narrative of their season,” Katz wrote. “Hall scored 25 points, grabbed nine boards and had three assists in the win in Chapel Hill and scored 15 and grabbed 10 boards and three assists and three blocks in the win at Syracuse. Clemson moved to 6-6 in the ACC, 16-7 overall and the 6-10 senior is the main reason why.”

Hall’s double-double against Syracuse was his sixth double-double of the season and 13th of his career. With 15 points against Syracuse, Hall reached the 1,500-point plateau and still sits 12th on Clemson’s all-time scoring list.

The 6-foot-10, 238-pound senior is averaging 19.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this season while shooting 49.7 percent from the field.

The Tigers return to action on Wednesday when they host Miami at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
