Clemson Opens New Year with Lofty Expectations

CLEMSON — Clemson centerfielder Cam Cannarella met with the media Tuesday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to discuss the 10th-ranked Tigers season opener against Xavier.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.

The Tigers are coming off a 44-19 campaign in 2023, one in which they won an ACC Championship. At one point, they won 16 straight games before falling in the Clemson Regional.

This year, the Tigers have their sight’s set on more.

“I want this team to succeed. We have big goals this year,” Cannarella said. “You saw the rankings and all of that, but we really don’t care about all of that. We just want to make it to Omaha, have a good season, want everybody to do good and get into games and hopefully play well.”
