Clemson ‘Really High Up’ in Coveted 2026 OL’s Recruitment

Clemson is continuing its early efforts with a 2026 target, and has plans for a spring visit.

Four-star offensive lineman Leo Delaney visited the Tigers for the win over Wake Forest in the fall. Since then, it’s a relationship that’s growing and  Delaney spoke to The Clemson Insider about Clemson’ latest efforts.

“Everything I’ve heard from the Clemson coaches has been great,” Delaney said. “They’ve talked about how long the priority for the ‘26 class, and that’s something that I really love to hear, and how they’re going to try to be down for a spring practice and hopefully more business than that.”

When Delaney visited in the fall for a game, Thomas Austin was the offensive line coach. Now with Luke at the helm,

Delaney spoke highly of Luke, as well as how it’s a very young relationship that he plans on growing during his recruitment. He was also impressed by how Dabo Swinney added Luke to the staff, and said it “spoke volumes” about the Tigers program.

With spring practice approaching, Delaney confirmed that he’ll be making a visit in March and he expressed excitement to spend more time on campus. Clemson is high on his radar, and it’s no coincidence that Providence Day holds the Tigers most coveted targets on the offensive line over the next two cycles.

Delaney is teammates with 2025’s No. 1 player David Sanders Jr. and said the two align in a lot of recruiting discussions. That holds true with Clemson, and the way Swinney runs his program sets it apart for Delaney.

“How they run their program. They run it so much like a family unlike most programs that I see, they try and stay away from NIL and transfer portal. And that really stands out to me something that a lot of other programs don’t do,” Delaney said.

With the summer slowly approaching, an offer from the Tigers could be awaiting Delaney. It’s a coveted one for him, and he knows “if they’re offering you, they want you” in Clemson.

If that’s the case, Delaney says the Tigers are “really high up there” in his recruiting and it’ll be one to watch as the 2026 cycle heats up.
