The return of Electronic Arts’ flagship college football game is near and it’s a longtime coming from the last title that released a decade ago. With the new landscape of NIL, it was made possible.
Clemson is among the full cast of FBS teams that will be featured in the game, and the official Tigers account shared the news on X(formerly Twitter).

Unlike the games before, players will have their names and likeness in the game instead of nameless numbers. With this change, players will be compensated for it.
The Athletic’s Chris Vannini reported that the encouraged opt-in date for athletes is April 30. He also gained details on the compensation for those who have their names in the game.
An EA Sports spokesperson told The Athletic that every player who opts in and is selected for the game will receive $600 and a copy of the game (a $70 value). Up to 85 players per school will appear on the initial rosters. A number of college athletes, both within football and outside of it, will also become ambassadors for the game and receive additional NIL compensation.
Another key detail is that there won’t be face scans for the player likeness, so don’t expect these models to look exactly like Clemson players. Still, the Tigers that opt in will be featured in the iconic title.
There is still no official release date, but the game is expected to release in Summer 2024 before the upcoming college football season kicks off.
