QB with Clemson Family Tie Hopes to Showcase Skills for the Tigers

This talented young signal-caller, with a Power Five offer already under his belt, will travel to Tiger Town for the first time this summer in hopes of impressing the Clemson coaching staff.

Clearwater Academy International (Clearwater, Fla.) 2027 quarterback Joaquin Kavouklis plans to participate in the Dabo Swinney Football Camp this summer, and he’s looking to show the Tigers during that camp workout what he can bring to the table at his position.

“This is my first trip to Clemson. I’m hoping to showcase my skills as a 2027 QB,” Kavouklis said.

“I’m hoping to separate myself and prove to the coaching staff that I am Clemson-level talent,” he added. “I want to show my leadership skills, my ability to adapt in any environment, my arm strength and my ability to make any throw that is asked of me.”

Arkansas has already offered the 6-foot-2, 185-pound Kavouklis, who passed for 1,608 yards and 13 touchdowns as a freshman in 2023.

Kavouklis has a family connection to Clemson – he’s a cousin of former Tiger starting offensive lineman Theo Mougros – so earning an offer from the Tigers down the road would certainly be significant for him.

“It would mean a lot to me to receive an offer to Clemson!” he said. “One of my family members played at Clemson and started!”

There’s plenty about the Tigers that appeals to Kavouklis.

“Clemson is definitely a school of interest for me,” he said. “Their tradition of quality athletes, great coaching and the education are huge factors for me when it comes time to decide on a school.”

Along with Clemson, Kavouklis is planning to camp at Arkansas, Florida, Miami, Florida State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Virginia Tech, USF and UCF.

Schools that have shown interest in Kavouklis, he said, include Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Miami, USF, Auburn, Syracuse, Alabama, Liberty, Florida and Clemson.
