Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney has raved about Misun “Tink” Kelley and what he can bring to the table for the Tigers.
Both Cade Klubnik and Christopher Vizzina are very excited about what the future holds for Kelley as well.
Following Monday’s spring practice, the two quarterbacks spoke glowingly about Kelley, who’s in his second year at Clemson. The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder played nine offensive snaps and returned one kick while redshirting last season, when he eventually underwent a minor surgery to repair an issue he had dealt with since his prep days.
A dynamic two-way player from nearby Daniel High School, Kelley joined the Tigers in the summer of 2023 as a wide receiver/defensive back, and the redshirt freshman is making his presence felt on the field so far this spring.

“That’s one of my guys, Tink,” said Vizzina, who redshirted alongside Kelley last year. “He came in here in the summer, and I really tried to help him out with the playbook. Because I knew he’s a guy that could play, and I expect big things from him.
“He’s got the talent. I wish people would have been able to see him [last] year. I know he got hurt, but he’s just a natural with it. I think during practice… he’s made some plays where it’s like, ‘Hey, I’m here, and this is all the work I’ve been doing.’ So, I’m proud of him for all of that, and he loves ball, so I expect big things from him.”
Like Vizzina, Klubnik is high on Kelley, who finished his high school career with 91 catches for more than 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns receptions, to go with 86 tackles, eight interceptions and four pass breakups on defense.
Kelley also averaged 26 yards on kickoff returns and 14 on punt returns, finishing his time at Daniel with more than 2,200 all-purpose yards.
“Very shifty guy, kind of reminds me a lot about Tyler [sophomore receiver Tyler Brown],” Klubnik said. “I think that he’s going to be a really great slot [receiver] for us, and just a really shifty guy who’s going to be a good punt returner guy, too.
“So, I’ve definitely got a ton of high hopes for him. It’s really exciting. Also a guy that just is about his business, and you love to have a guy that is up here on the weekends and getting extra catching in, getting extra JUGS machines in, and definitely really excited about him.”
