Former Clemson Staffer Gets New Job

A former Clemson star and football staff member has a new coaching gig.

Artavis Scott announced via social media that he will be the wide receivers coach for Howard University.

“It’s official blessed for the opportunity to be apart of Howard University,” Scott wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter). “it’s only the beginning thank you Lord for this Blessing it’s only up from here. Thank you to Coach Larry Scott for believing in me. It’s up from here. #Bison#HBCU”

Scott had been on Dabo Swinney’s staff as an offensive graduate assistant since 2021. On Feb. 8, he announced via X that he would be moving on from the Tigers’ support staff.

An All-ACC wide receiver each of his three seasons at Clemson from 2014-16, Scott racked up 245 receptions for 2,458 yards and 19 touchdowns over 43 career games (36 starts). He had six games with at least 100 receiving yards and caught a pass in 42 of 43 games. He finished with a streak of 38 straight with at least one reception, setting a school-record streak.

Following his Clemson career that was capped off with the 2016 national championship, Scott spent four seasons on practice squads with the Los Angeles Chargers, Indianapolis Colts and Houston Texans.
