CLEMSON – First impressions are everything and Clemson made a massive one on a target over the weekend.

2026 edge Katrell Webb made his first visit to the Tigers campus Saturday for the Elite Junior Day and connected deeply with the program. He caught up with The Clemson Insider to talk about his trip and how quickly Clemson has moved up his list.

Defensive line coaches Chris Rumph and Nick Eason were the two he connected with the most, and he values that relationship heavily.

“I like Clemson. It was a good experience. Good seeing and talking to Coach Rumph and Coach Eason and hearing what head coach Dabo Swinney had to say,” Webb said. “Coach Rumph means a lot because I’ve seen the talent he produces and I know that he can develop me into the top caliber and produce me into the NFL draft.

Webb also described Eason as a funny guy, something many know him as around the program. As he’s gotten to know the pair of coaches, Webb realized how much this period is valued by Clemson. The groundwork is everything for the Tigers, and it impressed him.

“I like that their recruiting process is different and they want to build strong relationships with the player and that they’re not just offering anybody. You have to earn it and when you do get that offer, it really means something. I like that part about Clemson,” Webb said.

Off the field, the Paw Journey program was something that stood out to Webb. The football side is something he already has respect for with the Tigers, but how he will be developed as a man plays a heavy factor.

“How they develop their players into being a man. The Paw Journey that we learned about on the visit, that was very cool to me especially for my first time being up there and seeing that,” Webb said.

Webb said Clemson is “not too far from home” so it would make it a far easier decision. An offer from the Tigers would “mean a lot” to him, and he plans to come back very soon.

“They’re going to be very high on my list. I like their school and I feel like the way they do it is different. It’s not the same as anybody so I’m going to be building that relationship, for sure coming back in the summer camping with them,” Webb said.

The Collins Hill standout confirmed to TCI that he will be back on campus for the Dabo Swinney Camp in early June, and he wants to remain close with the Tigers and earn that offer with the opportunity.
