Clemson Pro Day Official No., Shipley Grades At All-Time High

CLEMSON – Former Clemson running back Will Shipley set high grades at Clemson’s annual Pro Day at the Poe Indoor Practice Facility on Thursday.

Shipley was one of 10 Tigers who worked out in front of all 32 NFL teams. The running back recorded an official 4.39 in the 40-yard dash with a 1.54 10-yard split. He also ran a 4.11 in the shuttle drill and added a 6.81 in the three-cone drill.

The Clemson star had a 38.5 vertical jump and 10.2 broad jump, best and tied for the best among all the Tigers who participated.

Shipley’s numbers rank among the top 75 of 1,775 all time running backs that have participated in the NFL Scouting Combine or Pro Days according Kent Lee Platte. Shipley’s ranking is expected to rise with the official times.

The running back wasn’t the only former Tiger to have a good morning on Thursday.

Defensive end Xavier Thomas ran an official 4.56 40-yard dash with a 10-yard split of 1.55. Cornerback Nate Wiggins had a 1.59 split to compare at the combine.

Wiggins did not participate in the 40-yard dash, shuttle or three-cone drill and instead focused on position drills, while defensive tackle Ruke Orhorhoro ran a 4.67 shuttle and had a 7.4 in the three-cone.

Linebacker Jeremiah Trotter Jr. did not participate in Clemson’s Pro Day. He will have a private workout with NFL teams on April 9.
