A couple of weeks after being franchise-tagged by the Cincinnati Bengals, former Clemson star wide receiver Tee Higgins requested a trade on Monday. He and the Bengals haven’t worked out a long-term contract extension, and that appears unlikely to happen as of now.
One player who did get a contract extension this week is Buffalo Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins, who agreed to a three-year, $60.5 million deal on Monday.
The three-time Pro Bowler joined Kay Adams on Up & Adams on Tuesday, and he was asked about the possibility of the Bills making a move to bring Higgins to Buffalo.
Based on his comments, Dawkins is certainly open to the idea of his team trading for Higgins, and he advocated for Higgins to join the Bills.
“Tee Higgins? Tee Higgins from the Bengals, right?” Dawkins said. “Yeah, we know that guy. First of all, it would definitely work. As long as we’re not getting [any] Jets guys, I’m good. Tee Higgins is a player that can help Josh [Allen] and help this team get to where we have to go. …
“So, if they’re talking about Tee Higgins, then Tee Higgins, come on over bro and let’s get this thing done.”
Higgins, a 2020 second-round pick of the Bengals, has hauled in 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in his productive NFL career thus far.
Dawkins would evidently be happy to see Higgins take his talents over to the AFC East and jump on board with the Bills.
"As long as we not getting no Jets guys we good." 😭
