The in-state receivers came in droves for Clemson’s Elite Junior Day and a return visitor was impressed by the Tigers in person.

2026 wide receiver Jordon Gidron was on campus and saw Garrett Riley’s offense up close. He was in town for the North Carolina game, one dominated by Clemson’s run game but he got to see a different image at spring practice. It’s one that Gidron could see himself in.

“It was good to see a lot of competition Antonio Williams had two touchdowns. The new freshman Bryant Wesco, he was doing good so just good to see how Clemson throws the ball and how they operate the offense,” Gidron told The Clemson Insider. “They were throwing the ball and running the offense like that. It definitely sounds good to me.

Gidron said one emphasis made to him during the visit was the 1,000-yard receivers the Tigers have produced over the years. Wide receivers coach Tyler Grisham has continued to build this relationship. Gidron said Grisham “likes what I’m doing” and it’s a connection he takes very seriously.

During the visit, Gidron was with fellow S.C. talents Malik Clark and Donovan Murph. The latter mentioned to TCI that teaming up with the two at Clemson is something he’s not opposed to and Gidron gave his thoughts on the possibility.

“It’s definitely came up in conversations. I wouldn’t be opposed to it. It’s still early right now but yeah, we definitely talk to each other. I’ve worked out some of those guys before so that definitely would be something that would be cool to happen,” Gidron said.

Beyond football, Gidron is impressed by how the Tigers run their program especially with the messaging from head coach Dabo Swinney. He said it would “mean a lot to me” to receive an offer this summer and he’s one of the receivers Clemson has had on multiple visits in the 2026 class.

The facilities amazed Gidron from the hydro beds to the recovery room that would make him feel at home. Clemson’s weight room is another detail that impressed, especially its size.

“I definitely like how to pass the ball and stuff so they’re definitely high on the list. Just waiting to get that offer but Clemson is definitely close to the top,” Gidron said.

If the offer comes, the Tigers will be right in contention for the 6-foot-2 receiver who is planning to get back on campus soon.
