Tigers Going After Scoring Guards in Transfer Portal

Clemson is headed to the NCAA Tournament, but the Tigers are already making efforts to improve for next season.

As the transfer scene picks up, The Clemson Insider has confirmed there are two guards Clemson has reached out to. Both are elite scorers and would fill the void left by Joseph Girard III and Chase Hunter.

Senior Penn guard Clark Slajchert entered the portal March 11 and the Tigers are one of the teams to reach out. Slajchert averaged 18 points this seasons, shooting over 40 percent from behind the arc. His addition would boost the perimeter scoring immediately for 2024-25.

The second guard Clemson has contacted is senior Furman transfer Marcus Foster. He’s 6-foot-4 and would add size and versatility to the backcourt.

In his fourth playing season for the Paladins, Foster averaged 17 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. Head coach Brad Brownell prides his teams in physicality and he would bring that to the Tigers.

It’s early in the recruiting cycle, but Clemson is looking for insurance in the backcourt and the same success out of the transfers from this season.
