Four-Star CB Details How Clemson Commitment Came to Be

Clemson landed a key piece for the secondary’s future, and his decision to become a Tiger was an easy one after his latest visit.

2025 four-star cornerback Tae Harris committed to Clemson March 18, nine days after he was on campus for junior day. He caught up with The Clemson Insider to talk about how the choice came to be.

“Just felt like home,” Harris said. “One you know, you know. After the conversations with my mom after the visit. Left a huge impact on her, the education part and the life after football. The whole staff told me how much of a priority I was, how much Coach Swinney and Coach Conn told me that they needed me.”

Harris is a former Georgia commit who reopened his recruitment and the Tigers put its chips on the table. Clemson offered him Jan. 22, and have been making a strong push since.

“I feel like they can make me a better player because because it’s something they’ve done with the secondary. Of course they played the most freshman defensive backs in the country last year. That’s what really stood out to me as well,” Harris said.

The Cedartoen, Ga. Native has a strong connection with Tigers safety Khalil Barnes, and he showed a lot of excitement about being able to play alongside him in the same secondary.

Now it’s just a waiting game for Harris, who is excited to bring both his game and family to Clemson for his college career. The reception from Tigers fans has him even more excited.

“it’s been crazy you know, they love it,” Harris said. “They’ve been telling me they’ve been waiting on me for the longest you know, telling me that I was a need. I’m taking it all in and really enjoying it.”
