Top Massachusetts OL: Tigers ‘Very High’ on List After Visit, Offer

A highly regarded offensive lineman traveled to Clemson this past weekend and left campus with a new offer from Dabo Swinney’s program in tow.

Dexter School (Brookline, Mass.) four-star Hardy Watts picked up the offer Sunday, when he made his first trip to Tiger Town.

“I loved my Clemson visit,” Watts told The Clemson Insider. “My mother and brother came with me. They had an amazing time. The staff treated them just how they treated me. It was great.”

A class of 2025 recruit who lists around two dozen total offers, Watts received his Clemson offer from Swinney himself during a meeting in the head coach’s office.

“It meant everything,” Watts said of the offer. “Clemson is a fantastic institution with a long history of winning, so to be offered by a program of that caliber was humbling and a special moment for me.”

Swinney has made a great impression on the 6-foot-6, 297-pound junior.

“I think Coach Dabo is an amazing coach and an even better man,” Watts said.

Along with Swinney, Watts spent a lot of time during his visit with offensive line coach Matt Luke and the Tigers’ recruiting staff.

Said Watts of what he heard from the coaches/staff overall: “Their message was that they are committed to the academic, athletic and personal development of their players, and that they really want me to be a part of that.”

In addition to Clemson, Watts holds offers from schools such as Alabama, Boston College, Duke, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Virginia and Wisconsin.

Watts said he is planning to return to Clemson for an official visit.

Where do the Tigers stand in his recruitment right now coming out of the unofficial visit?

“Clemson is very high on my list after (Sunday),” he said.

Watts visited Virginia, Duke and North Carolina from Thursday to Saturday, respectively, after going to Boston College two weekends ago.

He is ranked as high as the No. 168 overall prospect in the country for the 2025 class by Rivals, which considers him the nation’s No. 17 offensive tackle and the No. 1 prospect in the state of Massachusetts.
