Terrell Impressed by Clemson’s Offensive Strides

CLEMSON – The improvements in Clemson’s passing game are showing up in the spring, and the Tigers’ defenders are seeing it first hand.

Cornerback Avieon Terrell is entering his sophomore season as the starter outside, and he’s seen the offense take a step in its second season under offensive coordinator Garrett Riley.

“They look good. The ball getting thrown, going deep. Cade getting the ball there, Antonio (Williams) looks good…everybody looks good out there,” Terrell said.

It’s been a front row seat for Terrell to see the offensive evolution. The collective thought is how the Gator Bowl was the catalyst for this passing game.

Quarterback Cade Klubnik led a game winning drive, going 8-8 for 71 yards before running back Phil Mafah sealed the deal. Terrell is seeing that turn into confidence in practice, and it’s changed the way Klubnik plays quarterback for the better.

“Cade just looks comfortable out there. He’s letting it rip, that’s what we’ve been waiting for, for him to just be comfortable and let it fly. It’s been looking good, they’re getting that ball out”, Terrell said.

With the spring game a few days away, Klubnik Clemson get to display how the offense has taken those steps to improve. Health is a key factor with healthy wide receivers like Antonio Williams back in the fold.

Freshman Bryant Wesco is another name Terrell praised, one he’s gone against often in the spring. The Tigers showcase this evolution Saturday in Death Valley and kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
