Swinney on Two D-Linemen Who Won’t Play in Spring Game

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media Wednesday ahead of Saturday’s spring game and provided a number of injury updates.

Among the numerous players who will not play in the spring game is star defensive lineman Peter Woods.

A rising sophomore, Woods is dealing with mono, according to Swinney.

“They’re not going to let him play,” Swinney said. “He looks great, he feels great. But when you have mono, there’s a time period, I guess with your spleen, maybe, or something. So, you’ve got to be smart with that. So, he’s not going to be able to go.”

Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Vic Burley will not play on Saturday, either.

“Burley’s out,” Swinney said. “He’s battling a hamstring.”

Saturday’s spring game is set for 1 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
