Former Clemson CB Has Pre-Draft Visit with This NFL Team

This NFL team hosted Clemson’s top draft prospect on Thursday.

Nate Wiggins had a pre-draft visit with the Pittsburgh Steelers at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex, per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Wiggins is projected by many pundits to be a first-round pick and one of the first cornerbacks taken in the NFL Draft later this month. He is the No. 4 cornerback and No. 23 overall prospect on ESPN analyst Mel Kiper’s latest Big Board that was updated Friday (subscription required), while NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah has Wiggins as the No. 5 corner and No. 31 overall prospect in his updated prospect rankings released this week.

The 6-foot-1, 173-pounder ran a blazing 4.28 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine last month, the fastest time among cornerbacks and second-fastest time of any player.

Wiggins earned first-team All-ACC honors as a junior in 2023, when he tallied 25 tackles (one for loss), a team-high nine pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one sack and two interceptions (one of which he returned 46 yards for his second career touchdown) over 10 games (seven starts).

In his career at Clemson from 2021-23, Wiggins recorded 50 tackles (3.0 for loss), 24 pass breakups, three interceptions (including two returned for touchdowns), two forced fumbles, a sack and a blocked field goal over 34 games (18 starts).

The 2024 NFL Draft is set to take place from April 25-27 in Detroit.
