Randall Feels Tigers have Weapons to be Explosive

CLEMSON – Wide receiver Adam Randall has battled injuries throughout his time at Clemson but is now feeling great as the Tigers finished up their spring. Saturday’s game was the first time he has played in Clemson’s annual spring game.

“Just trying to stay healthy is the biggest thing for me,” Randell said following the Orange’s 27-12 victory over the White Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

When it comes to what needs to happen for him to possibly have the year he has been looking for since he got to Clemson, Randall knows he needs to find a way to stay on the field. When he does, usually good things happen to him and the Tigers.

Such was the case on Saturday, the 6-foot-2, 220-pound receiver had four receptions on seven targets for 85 yards. Randall and quarterback Cade Klubnik connected on a long pass for 55 yards late in the third quarter, the longest play of the day.

After the scrimmage, Randall was asked if there is a chance this Tiger wide receiver group has a chance to be special.

“I don’t think it’s a chance, I think we are special,” he said.

With the addition of freshman Bryant Wesco and five-star TJ Moore coming in June, Randall believes the wide receivers could make Clemson’s offense “one of the most explosive in the nation.”

Now in his third season, Randall has worked himself into role of leadership. His goals this spring season were to “continue to keep my confidence and build off what I did last year…being that guy that is going to set the tone every day and be a leader.”

He did that on Saturday, as he bounced from a blunder that led to an interception to having a team-best 85 receiving yards.

Randall and the Tigers will open the new season on Aug. 31 when they face the Georgia Bulldogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
