Talented QB, No. 1 Kentucky Prospect Recaps ‘Amazing’ Clemson Visit

Clemson recently played host to a talented signal-caller ranked as the top prospect in the state of Kentucky for the 2026 class.

Cooper High School (Union, Ky.) quarterback Cam O’Hara traveled to Tiger Town for an unofficial visit on Wednesday of last week.

O’Hara participated in the Dabo Swinney Camp last summer as a rising sophomore but got a more comprehensive experience during his latest visit.

“I went to camp last summer and had a good camp and got to take a tour of the facility, but I wouldn’t call it a full visit because (on the latest visit) I got to take a tour of the whole campus and facility, so that was amazing,” O’Hara told The Clemson Insider.

“What stood out to me the most was how everybody felt connected, and you can just tell things are run well there.”

O’Hara, who already holds a handful of scholarship offers, made the trip to campus with his mother and father — both of whom also came away very impressed by the visit and Swinney’s program.

“They definitely loved it,” he said. “My parents are big fans of Dabo’s philosophy and how he runs things.”

O’Hara spent most of his time during the visit with offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Garrett Riley, as well as student coach Paul Tyson.

“They were both great, and I got to see what it’s like being in the QB room and what they have to offer,” O’Hara said. “Since I’m a sophomore, I won’t be getting an offer until June, but they made it clear that I am definitely one of the main guys.”

As O’Hara alluded to, Clemson typically doesn’t start offering recruits until the summer before their junior year, but he would be thrilled to eventually add the Tigers to his offer list that currently includes multiple FBS programs like Kentucky, Miami (Ohio) and Western Kentucky.

“For me to get an offer from Clemson would be amazing just because of how I can see myself being in that room and being able to compete at that high of a level,” he said. “Their offense is just the way I would prefer, so once I saw that, it was definitely a good sign for me.”

O’Hara — the No. 1 class of 2026 prospect in Kentucky regardless of position, per Rivals — completed 65.1 percent of his passes for 3,561 yards and 49 touchdowns with just seven interceptions as a sophomore last season.

“Me as a quarterback, I would say is, I am a pocket passer but can move out of the pocket and make plays whenever I need to,” he said.
