Former Clemson QB Re-Enters Transfer Portal

A former Clemson quarterback has put his name back in the portal.

Billy Wiles announced Friday that he has entered the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility left.

Wiles spent the first two years of his college career (2021-22) at Clemson before transferring to Southern Miss for the 2023 campaign.

The 6-foot-3, 222-pounder played in 11 games for the Golden Eagles, completing 54 percent of his passes for 1,934 yards and 11 touchdowns with seven interceptions, while rushing for 17 yards and another touchdown on 58 attempts.

A native of Ashburn, Va., Wiles originally joined Clemson as a walk-on in 2021 before being placed on scholarship for 2022. He went 2-for-4 for 31 yards against UConn, including a 25-yard touchdown pass, in his lone appearance of the 2021 season before not seeing any game action in 2022.

Wiles chose to walk-on at Clemson despite scholarship offers from Tulane, Old Dominion, Harvard and Bucknell. He led Stone Bridge High School (Ashburn, Va.) to a state title in the spring of 2021 before enrolling at Clemson.
