Bad News for Strider

Former Clemson great Spencer Strider got some bad news.  A decision has been made after an early season injury.

The 2024 season is over for the Atlanta Braves ace and former Clemson Tiger.

Spencer Strider went down last week with right elbow discomfort and the Braves waited until Saturday to give an update on his status. The initial fear was another Tommy John surgery but this will have a slightly quicker recovery.

He’s officially out for the 2024 season after undergoing surgery on his UCL. The procedure placed an internal brace and he will undergo a year-long recovery.

Strider had just two starts this season before it came to a close. He set multiple franchise records for the Braves over the last two seasons.

The former Tiger also became the fastest player to reach 200 strikeouts in the NL or AL era. Strider now begins a long rehab as Atlanta will push on without their star on the mound.
