The return of EA’s College Football franchise is coming this summer and it’ll be the first time players will have their names in the game.
Clemson is confirmed to be in the game, but there’s yet to be any details about player ratings or a gameplay reveal. That said, I’ve got enough hours of Madden under my belt to know who can be a problem for opponents.
Here’s some of the players that could end up being the best to use.
WR Misun “Tink” Kelley
Speed is king in EA’s world. Kelley has every bit of it. He’s built to be a human joystick in the game, and his attributes could fit that billing.
Kelley doesn’t have much reps on the field and that could lead to some lower ratings. Still, his agility will make him a great option and a strong year will only raise those numbers. Run some verticals and jet sweeps.
TE Jake Briningstool
This one definitely won’t be held back by his overall. He’s going to be one of, if not the best possession tight end in the game.
With his 6-foot-4 frame and impressive resume of catches, there’s no doubt Briningstool will have the spectacular catch rating to match it. Throw some high passes down the seam and it’ll be easy pickings regardless of the coverage.
DL Peter Woods
This will do the job for you. Elite pass rushers in Madden made defense so much easier and Woods can do a bit of it all.
His ratings will be one of the highest on the team, making him a monster for the AI offensive tackles to deal with. Just let him loose and play coverage, you won’t be disappointed.
LB Barrett Carter
There’s nothing like a fast linebacker to control in Madden. Carter brings that to the college football sphere.
The All-ACC linebacker had the option to go to the NFL, and his athleticism is what makes him so impressive. That’ll make him just as fast, if not faster that the skill players you will defend with him.
So yes, run around like a maniac and make plays because Carter will have the speed and overall ratings to do it.
