Wiggins Joins Kay Adams Ahead of Draft, Asked if He Has Message for UNC’s Maye

Clemson’s Nate Wiggins, an elite cover cornerback and one of the top prospects at his position in this year’s draft class, joined NFL personality Kay Adams on her Up & Adams show this week ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft (April 25-27 in Detroit).

Wiggins, who is widely projected to be a first-round pick, discussed a number of different topics with Adams including his “Nate the Great” nickname, his blazing 40-yard dash time (4.28) at the NFL Scouting Combine, what sets him apart from other corners in this year’s draft and much more.

Wiggins also spoke about his success against former North Carolina quarterback and presumptive 2024 first-round pick Drake Maye.

Wiggins accounted for two of the 16 career interceptions thrown by Maye, one of which went 98 yards for a touchdown in the 2022 ACC Championship Game. The other pick sealed Clemson’s Senior Day victory over the Tar Heels in Death Valley last November.

Adams asked Wiggins if Maye is as good as everybody says he is.

“He a good quarterback. I ain’t gonna take nothing from him, but I got him a couple times,” Wiggins said, laughing.

Does Wiggins have a message for Maye as they enter the NFL together in this year’s draft class?

“Nah, just tell him like, he’s going to have to see me again, so don’t throw it to me this time,” Wiggins said with a big smile.
