One of the top quarterbacks in the next recruiting class visited Clemson last weekend.
4-star Troy Huhn (Mission Hills, San Marcos, Ca) stopped by campus on his way to Atlanta for an Elite 11 competition.
“One of the things that stood out was the beauty of the school,” Huhn told The Clemson Insider. “It is located in a great area and is a fun place to be. Along with the history that have there with the number of guys that have been developed.”
Standing 6-foot-4 and already weighing more than 200-pounds, Huhn has a big arm. The 247 Composite ranks him inside the Top 150 overall and No. 12 among all quarterbacks.
As a sophomore, Huhn competed 60 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,623 yards with 16 touchdowns and he thinks his skillset would translate nicely into Garrett Riley’s scheme.
“I really like the way they run their offense,” Huhn said. “They love to throw the ball and that’s always a plus. Coach Riley is a super great person. I spent a lot of time with him and truly was able to get to know him.”
Huhn already has well over a dozen offers. Ole Miss, Ohio State, Florida State, Kansas State and Michigan State have all offered in the past few weeks. Clemson won’t start offering kids in the 2026 class until June and Huhn is hoping to add one from the Tigers.
“The offer would be very exciting,” Huhn said. “They definitely don’t throw them out there and this school is something special truly.”
Some of the other visits Huhn has taken during a busy spring include Texas, Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State, as he sets out to find what school might be the best fit.
“Getting to know the coaching staff is huge, along with knowing they can get me to the NFL and have a successful career,” he said.
At the same time, Huhn is not in any hurry to make any decision. Seeing as he has yet to even start his junior season, the young quarterback is content with just enjoying the process and he is hoping to get back to Clemson at some point in the future.
“I am not rushing anything right now,” Huhn said. “I’m just trying to keep having fun enjoying it all but I would love to get back out to Clemson in the future.”
