After being selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round (30th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft, former Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins joined the team’s “The Lounge” podcast where he discussed the emotions of getting drafted, his expectations for his rookie season, his motivation and more.
Wiggins was asked where the fire comes from within him to prove teams wrong that passed on him in the draft.
“It’s really been like that all my life. A lot of folks have been doubting me all my life,” he said. “I just had to prove folks wrong, so I’m really used to it now.”
The 2023 first-team All-ACC selection also shared a funny draft story, saying when the Ravens called, he was actually in the restroom.
“When it got to (pick) 25, I went to the restroom and I was in the bathroom, and they called me. I was using the bathroom,” he said, laughing.
You can check out clips from Wiggins’ interview on “The Lounge” podcast in the following social media post from the Ravens and see the full interview on the Ravens’ official YouTube channel here.
