Clemson has officially started handing out offers to rising juniors.
2026 CB Samari “Smoke” Matthews (Williams Amos Hough, Cornelius, NC) announced an offer from the Tigers on Friday morning. Matthews is the first player from the class to go public with an offer.
The 4-star talent now has more than three dozen offers, with Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and Ohio State being some of the schools to have already offered.
The 6-foot, 180-pound prospect last visited Clemson for its Elite Junior Day back in March, and following the trip, said the Tigers were in his Top 5.
“Clemson is definitely in my top 5 of schools,” Matthews said. “The message was the same as before, that I am one of the guys they are big on, and I’m looking forward to building a relationship.”
Matthews ranks No. 83 overall in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings and No. 6 among all cornerbacks.
