Future Development Key in 4-Star Graceson Littleton’s Commitment to Clemson

CLEMSON- While on his official visit to Clemson, Graceson Littleton began to feel like he had found his college destination.

The 4-star corner (Wiregrass Ranch, Tampa) didn’t attend the big official visit weekend with most of the rest of the uncommitted 2025 targets. Littleton had already set a date with Penn State for the same weekend and wanted to see that through.

After his visit to Happy Valley, Littleton came straight to Clemson and was one of two uncommitted targets to arrive on Sunday and stay through early Tuesday. It was a much different visit compared to the one he took back in the spring and it would wind up having major implications on his recruitment, as Littleton announced a commitment the day after arriving back at home.

“It was a very great experience, honestly, just going there,” Littleton told The Clemson Insider. “It was a one-on-one environment. Previously I went on a visit, but there was really no one on campus. I didn’t get to meet a lot of people. I really only got to meet my position coach, coach (Mike) Reed.”

“I didn’t meet the head coach, I didn’t meet defensive coordinator. I didn’t meet any of those people. So just being there with those people, it really showed me what type of community and environment it was. It’s a family and faith based program I certainly believe. I was really grateful just to have that opportunity to be there because I really got a good look at it, and obviously it led to this commitment.”

Littleton was already familiar with what Clemson had to offer due his cousin, former standout LB Tre Lamar, having played for the Tigers. Then, during his two night stay on campus, the Top 150 talent began to feel like Clemson was indeed the right fit.

“The night before I left, I told my family I think this is the place I want to be. I really want to here,” he said “Then the day after I got home, when we sat down, just confirming things, they kind of had the same thought as me. They believed in the program as well. My cousin Tre Lamar played there, actually, so we kind of already had a thought about it.”

“A very smart coach,” Littleton said. “I really love speaking to him. We have very great conversations every time we talk. I think he can get me to where I want to be, which is the NFL. When I was on the phone with him, when I was about to commit, I told him, ‘Coach, I need you to promise me something. Even when I’m not at my best, and I don’t really want it, I need you to push me past my limits and make me great.’ That’s truly what I’m going to be.”

As for the timing, Littleton was confident he had seen enough. The culture that Dabo Swinney has created inside the program was just something he didn’t feel he could pass up.

“They really believe in the guys they have, they’re a developmental program obviously, they don’t use the transfer portal,” Littleton said. “I think it’s a one of one program really in today’s college football. Just the way they operate, the coaching staff. The second I walked in coach Swinney’s house, it was straight hugs. And that was obviously the first time I even experienced that on a visit. Just like hugs. It’s just very personal. I feel like they can develop me and bring the best out in me. I’m excited for the future.”
