Trevor Lawrence is getting paid in a big way.
The former Clemson star and Jacksonville Jaguars franchise quarterback has reportedly landed a massive contract extension.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Lawrence and the Jags have agreed to a five-year, $275 million extension, including $200 million guaranteed ($142 million at signing).
It’s obviously a huge deal for Lawrence, who had been engaged in contract talks with Jacksonville. Having accrued three full NFL seasons, he was eligible for a contract extension.
Per Schefter, Lawrence is now tied with the Bengals’ Joe Burrow as the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL on a per-year basis ($55 million).
A 2022 Pro Bowler, Lawrence has completed 63.8 percent of his passes for 11,770 yards and 58 touchdowns with 39 interceptions in 50 career starts over the first three years of his NFL career since being selected by the Jags with the first overall pick in the 2021 draft.
Last season, Lawrence battled through multiple injuries but only missed one game (the first missed game of his NFL career) in 2023, when he completed 65.6 percent of his passes for 4,016 yards and 21 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
Lawrence, who will turn 25 in October, helped lead the Jaguars to the AFC South title and a wild-card victory in 2022.
