Jags HC Talks Lawrence Contract, Funny Lawrence Travel Story

Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson recently joined The Rich Eisen Show, and among the topics Pederson discussed is his team’s franchise quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, who is fresh off signing a new massive contract extension this offseason.

The former Clemson star and 2021 No. 1 overall pick inked a five-year, $275 million deal, tying him with the Bengals’ Joe Burrow as the highest-paid player in the NFL by average annual salary ($55 million per year).

Eisen asked Pederson if he talks to Lawrence at all about his contract.

“I don’t. I try to stay out of it. I just want to focus on the football side and what we do on the grass,” Pederson said. “And I think Trevor’s the same way. I think he doesn’t want to talk about it when it was going on and just let the powers to be, you know, handle all the particulars and let us focus on football.”

Watch Pederson talk about Lawrence and his contract – and share a hilarious Lawrence travel story – in the following clip from The Rich Eisen Show:
