Vizzina says Spring Game Performance set him up for Good Summer

CLEMSON – With the conclusion of fall camp, No 14. Clemson now has its sights turned towards Game 1 against top-ranked Georgia. After Tuesday’s practice, the media spoke with backup quarterback Christopher Vizzina.

–Vizzina gave high praise to the defense for what they have done in fall camp. He said, “Our defense has been doing a really good job of preparing us and I’m really excited about it.” He later added, “We’ve been working really hard, we flipped the page now. We got an opponent, but at the end of the day we’re playing Clemson, and we don’t want to beat ourselves.”

–After looking back, he didn’t perform the way he wanted in the spring game, he touched on how those struggles prepared him for the season. He said, “I did not have the spring game I wanted to have but I feel like that really set me up to have a really good summer and a really good fall camp and turn the page from that and set me up very well.”

–The redshirt freshman was asked about quarterback Cade Klubnik and how he has stepped up as a leader this year. He said, “He’s hungry just like all of us. Everyone has good energy and really good chemistry. This team is very close, and this quarterback group is really close and I think that will pay big dividends throughout the season.”

–The last few periods of practice included playing the Georgia fight song over and over again at max volume. Vizzina said, “I know we’re going to hear it a lot so we’re getting prepared for it.”
