Latest on Game Time for Clemson Game at Florida State

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – The Atlantic Coast Conference and its television partners announced the following football game times and networks for Week 6, October 4-5.

Week 6 of the season will feature eight conference matchups and a Friday night non-conference showdown between Syracuse and UNLV in Las Vegas, Nevada, on FS1.

Friday, October 4

  • Syracuse at UNLV – 9 p.m. ET on FS1 – previously announced

Saturday, October 5

  • Boston College at Virginia – Noon ET on ACC Network
  • Wake Forest at NC State – Noon ET on The CW
  • Virginia Tech at Stanford – 3:30 p.m. ET on ACC Network
  • Duke at Georgia Tech – 8 p.m. ET on ACC Network
  • Miami at California – 10:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

The following three games will have the network designated after the Week 5 games this Saturday, September 28.

Saturday, October 5

  • SMU at Louisville – Noon ET on either ESPN or ESPN2
  • Pitt at North Carolina – Noon ET on either ESPN or ESPN2
  • Clemson at Florida State – 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC or 7 p.m. ET on ESPN

ACC Football Notes
Through Week 4 of the 2024 season:

  • Week 0 – Florida State versus Georgia Tech saw 5.0 million viewers and was the most-watched Week 0 game on any network since 2019.
  • College GameDay from Ireland was the most-watched Week 0 episode ever – 41 percent over the previous most-watched Week 0 show (2022) and averaged 1.6 million viewers, including 2.0 million in the final hour.
  • Week 1 – ACC was part of a historical day on Saturday, August 31, as it was ABC’s second-most-watched Kickoff Saturday on record.
    • 7.9 million viewers – The Clemson versus Georgia Aflac Kickoff Game in Atlanta was the most-watched Week 1 Noon Game on record, peaking at 9.5 million viewers.
    • 6.6 million viewers – The in-state rivalry contest between Miami and Florida in Gainesville, Florida, was the most-watched Week 1 Late Afternoon Game since 2017.
  • Seven ACC teams are undefeated in non-conference play – tied for the second-most among all FBS conferences.
  • The ACC is 37-11 overall in non-conference play.
  • The ACC has eight non-conference wins versus fellow Power 4 foes.
  • The ACC was the only conference to have played conference games in each of the first three weeks (Week 0, Week 1 and Week 2) of the season to start the year.
  • The ACC had 73 league games decided by eight points or less over the last three years (2021-23).
    • This year five of the eight ACC league games to date have been decided by less than eight points.

This Week in Week 5

  • Three teams ranked in the AP Top 25 Poll this week – Miami (No. 7), Louisville (No. 15) and Clemson (No. 17).
    • Three other teams received votes in the poll – Boston College (55), Pitt (37) and SMU (2).
  • Three teams ranked in the Coaches Poll this week – Miami (No. 9), Clemson (No. 15) and Louisville (No. 17).
    • Four other ACC teams received votes in the coaches poll – Pitt (50), Boston College (15), Duke (14) and SMU (4).
  • Week 5 features five non-conference games – including a top-20 matchup with No. 15 Louisville at No. 16 Notre Dame.
  • The ACC will have four conference games in Week 5, including the first-ever ACC game for SMU and a Friday night showdown between Virginia Tech and No. 7 Miami.

The ACC is the Conference of Quarterbacks once again this season:

  • Six QBs ranked in the top 25 of FBS in total passing yards – the most of any conference.
  • Six QBs ranked in the top 25 of FBS in total yards per game – the most of any conference.
  • Five QBs with nine touchdown passes or more this season – tied for the most of any conference.
    • Cam Ward (Miami) leads the nation with 14 passing touchdowns.
  • Five QBs ranked in the top 20 of FBS in passing yards per game – tied for the most of any conference.
  • Four QBs ranked in the top 15 of ESPN’s Total QBR – tied for the most of any conference.
  • Four QBs ranked in the top 15 of FBS in passing efficiency – tied for the second-most of any conference.
  • Twelve different ACC quarterbacks have thrown for at least 300 yards in a game this year.
    • Three QBs have done it in multiple games this season – Cam Ward (Miami) four times, while Eli Holstein (Pitt) and Kyle McCord (Syracuse) have both done it three times.
      • Ward is the first Miami quarterback to begin a season with four consecutive 300-yard passing games.
      • Holstein became the first freshman (redshirt or true) in Pitt history to throw for 300-plus yards in three consecutive games, his first three games of the season.
      • McCord was the first quarterback in Syracuse history to throw for 300 yards or more in consecutive games, doing it in each of his first three starts for the Orange.
  • Three quarterbacks – Jacolby Criswell (North Carolina), Cam Ward (Miami) and Hank Bachmeier (Wake Forest) – have recorded a game of over 400 passing yards this season.
    • Jacolby Criswell’s 475 passing yards in Week 4 versus James Madison are the most by a quarterback in a single game this season.
  • Miami quarterback Cam Ward has thrown for over 15,000 yards passing in his career, making him the 13th player recognized by the NCAA to have reached that milestone.
  • ACC had the most of any conferences on the following QB preseason watch lists: Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (13); Maxwell Award preseason watch list (10); and Davey O’Brien Award (8).
  • The ACC has the top-ranked group of quarterback transfers in 2024 by CBS Sports.
  • 13 QBs in the league enter the 2024 season with over 20 career touchdown passes and 3,500 career passing yards.
  • Since 2018, the ACC has had at least one quarterback drafted in the first round in five different drafts — the only conference to do that.

The ACC’s Preeminent Players ranked among FBS leaders:

  • The ACC has the FBS leader in interceptions – Nohl Williams (Cal) with four interceptions.
  • The ACC has six of the top 20 sacks leaders in FBS – Antwaun Powell-Ryland (Virginia Tech) is tied for the nation’s lead with 5.5 sacks.
  • Six of the top 12 NCAA leaders in sacks per game this season in all of FBS are in the ACC.
  • The ACC has nine of the top 25 ranked players in tackles-for-loss per game this season.
  • Duke’s Alex Howard ranks third in tackles-for-loss per game (2.1) and second in total tackles-for-loss (8.5) on the season.
  • The ACC has four of the top 25 ranked players in tackles per game this season in all of FBS.
  • The ACC has four of the top 11 punt returners in all of FBS in punt return average.
  • Seven different players from the ACC have returned a punt for a touchdown – the most of any conference.
  • The ACC has four of the top 10 punters in all of FBS in yards per punt average.
  • The ACC has four receivers ranked in the top 25 of all FBS in receiving yards per game – the second-most of any conference.
  • The ACC has four receivers ranked in the top 25 of all FBS in receiving yards – tied for the second-most of any conference.
  • North Carolina’s Omarion Hampton ranks in the top five in all of FBS in both rushing yards (555) and rushing yards per game (138.8).

The ACC’s non-conference schedule continues to be the most challenging in the country:

  • 26 games against Power 4 opponents, including Notre Dame – the most of any conference.
  • Nine non-conference games against teams ranked in the final 2023 Associated Press Top 25 Poll – the most of any conference.
  • 10 non-conference games against teams in ESPN’s 2024 Way-Too-Early Top 25 – the most of any conference.
